Malcolm P. Ruff is a trial attorney and Associate at Murphy, Falcon & Murphy.

As an aggressive and passionate advocate, Malcolm currently focuses his practice on representing victims of police brutality, negligence in personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death matters, and criminal defense.  Malcolm is a battle-tested and fearless trial lawyer who has fought vigorously on the behalf of his clients with proven efficacious results.

Malcolm is an Alum of Gilman School and went on to attend Duke University where he played Football for the Blue Devils and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in African & African American Studies.  He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012 and launched his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in both the Baltimore County and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Offices.

After garnering invaluable experience as a prosecutor, Malcolm joined a private general practice firm in Baltimore City where he was named a Senior Associate and focused on personal injury and criminal defense litigation before joining the ranks of Murphy, Falcon & Murphy in January 2018.

During his career, Malcolm has worked closely with several community advocacy groups including Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, The Center for Urban Families, The Job Opportunities Task Force, Out for Justice, and the NAACP Office of the General Counsel where he served as a legal fellow.  Malcolm is still very active in the Gilman School community where he serves on the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Board of Governors, and the Black Alumni Society of which he is co-founder.  He is also a member of the board of directors for two non-profit organizations: Project Pneuma, a character development and mentoring program for boys in Baltimore City and The Inside Out Initiative, a national organization that empowers and equips school communities to implement purpose-based athletics.  Malcolm is also the founder of his own grass-roots community organization ‘The Pagya Project’, which works to mobilize members of under-served communities in Baltimore City to strategically combat issues like homelessness and street violence.

Malcolm is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association, Monumental City Bar Association, The Alliance of Black Women Attorneys of Maryland, Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, Baltimore Attorneys for the Black Agenda, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Malcolm is a lifelong member of Heritage United Church of Christ where he has served as chairman of the Trustee Board and as a Praise & Worship leader.  He resides in Baltimore City with his wife Sydnee and their three children Sage, Ray & Ella.
