William G. Minkin is a partner at Peter Angelos Law in Baltimore, Maryland, where he has dedicated nearly three decades to advocating for injured individuals. His practice encompasses personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, birth injury, mesothelioma and asbestos exposure, mass torts and class actions. Since joining the firm in 1995, he has pursued justice for countless victims and achieved landmark recoveries on their behalf.
Early in his career, Mr. Minkin represented survivors of a for-profit psychiatric hospital chain, securing meaningful redress for those harmed by systemic neglect. He then turned his attention to tobacco litigation, where, as part of a team representing the State of Maryland, he helped obtain more than $4 billion in settlement and judgment funds.
For the past 30 years, Mr. Minkin has concentrated on asbestos exposure claims, winning hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. He has obtained multiple jury verdicts exceeding $15 million, numerous seven-figure awards, and countless multimillion-dollar pre-verdict settlements. His courtroom successes extend to appellate practice as well – he has argued before both the Supreme Court of Maryland and the Appellate Court of Maryland, further cementing his reputation as a formidable advocate.
Most recently, Mr. Minkin has joined forces with fellow attorneys to represent U.S. military veterans injured by defective 3M Combat Arms earplugs, as well as veterans and family members exposed to toxic chemicals at Camp Lejeune. His trial work in these mass tort and product liability cases persists in generating substantial recoveries for those whose health and well-being have suffered.
In recognition of his professional excellence, Mr. Minkin is AV Preeminent* peer-review rated through Martindale-Hubbell. His commitment to civic and charitable causes extends beyond the courtroom. He is a past chair of the Board of the Jewish Community Centers of Baltimore and serves on the boards of the Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore and the Macks Jewish Connection Network.
Mr. Minkin has also taken on a leadership role with the Maryland Food Bank Lawyers’ Campaign Against Hunger and has served on the board of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake. Prior to launching his legal career, he studied at The University of Maryland School of Law, graduating in 1996 and becoming licensed to practice in Maryland later that year.
