Adam Van Grack is an attorney at Longman & Van Grack, LLC, and he is the head of the firm’s litigation department. Located in Bethesda, Maryland (with an office in Rockville), Mr. Van Grack represents clients throughout parts of the greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Admitted to practice in both Maryland and the District of Columbia, Mr. Van Grack is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and District of Columbia Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
In his civil litigation practice, Mr. Van Grack has represented both plaintiffs and defendants at the trial and appellate levels. The types of cases that he has worked on have included contract disputes, business disputes, property matters, fraud, trade secrets, adverse possession, breach of contract, tree disputes sports law, and other civil litigation matters. Mr. Van Grack’s successful track record has not gone unnoticed by his fellow attorneys, as evidenced by his receipt of a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo and selection to the Maryland and Washington DC Editions of Super Lawyers for multiple years. Mr. Van Grack's legal opinions have been featured in many different national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Baltimore Sun. Mr. Van Grack has also been elected as a Councilmember for the City of Rockville, and he currently serves in this role.
Mr. Van Grack attended Washington University in St. Louis as an undergraduate, where he majored in political science and received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 1998. He remained on campus for his legal education at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and he was an editor on what was then called the Washington University Law Quarterly before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2002 and being inducted into the Order of the Coif. Mr. Van Grack has had numerous articles published on topics related to his practice areas, and he is currently Chair of the U.S. Olympic Committee's Canoe Slalom Sport.
