Howard B. Soypher

Focusing his practice primarily on family law matters, Howard B. Soypher is a partner at Webb Soypher McGrath. From the firm's office in Bethesda, Maryland, he provides representation to clients throughout the state as well as the District of Columbia, and he is admitted to practice in both of those jurisdictions. In addition to his family law practice, Mr. Soypher has also represented both fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and estate litigation.

A significant part of Mr. Soypher's family law practice involves his assisting people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are having to deal with such related issues as the division of complex assets, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. In addition to being a forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, he has a background in mediation and arbitration, and this allows him to often help his clients come to an accord on these matters through the use of those alternative dispute resolution methods. Other family law cases that Mr. Soypher has experience in have included representing people who have already received a divorce decree and who are now seeking the enforcement of or modifications to existing support and parenting orders.

Mr. Soypher has earned a great deal of recognition from his colleagues for his successful track record and high degree of ethics. The recipient of both an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer-review rating through Avvo, he has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2013. A 1996 cum laude recipient of a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, Mr. Soypher has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2011.
