Abdullah Hijazi is the founding partner of Hijazi, Zaslow, & Carroll, P.A. in Bowie, Maryland. He possesses nearly a decade of experience assisting clients with zoning and development matters, complex real estate issues, construction litigation, probate, and landlord-tenant disputes. He serves clients across Maryland and the District of Columbia, including Prince George's, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Frederick counties.
Early in his career, Mr. Hijazi worked for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and then at a zoning law firm, a national civil engineering company, a boutique construction litigation firm, and finally a title company before starting the law firm he practices at today. These previous careers allowed him to gain a unique and broad background in real estate, construction and zoning matters. His experience enables him to efficiently evaluate complex development sites and legal matters to determine the best course of action while helping clients best achieve their short-term and long-term goals.
Mr. Hijazi stays updated on the latest changes in Maryland and federal laws, statutes, regulations, and industry trends in his areas of practice. He has been able to refine his knowledge and skills in a range of real estate, zoning, and construction-related matters even before he became an attorney and is able to bring zeal and a 360-degree perspective to his client's matters.
Mr. Hijazi completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at The George Washington University in 2008. He completed his legal education at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2013. He is authorized to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Recognized for his successful track record, Mr. Hijazi has secured several large settlements and awards on behalf of real estate investors, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors in matters involving real estate purchase and closing disputes, construction contracts, restrictive covenants, easements, and more. He has also guided real estate owners with the purchase, sale, leasing, subdivision, and development of many properties in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Hijazi has given back to his community by providing pro bono services. He has helped a few community associations such as Greenspring Homeowner's Association, Seabrook Acres Neighborhood Association, and the Prince George's Muslim Association successfully oppose the opening of marijuana dispensaries in each of their neighborhoods. Furthermore, he has assisted several refugees to obtain residency and citizenship in the U.S.
