Andre O. McDonald

The founder of the McDonald Law Firm, LLC, Andre O. McDonald dedicates his practice to various aspects of elder law, including estate planning and administration. From his offices in Columbia, Maryland, he represents clients throughout portions of the greater Baltimore and District of Columbia metropolitan areas. Mr. McDonald has been admitted to practice in Maryland since 2015, the District of Columbia since 2019, the Commonwealth of Virigina as of 2025, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

A significant portion of Mr. McDonald’s practice involves his preparation and review of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, advance medical directives, and health care and financial powers of attorney. He views each document as a component of an overall plan that he tailors to meet the specific objectives and circumstances of each of his clients. Mr. McDonald has also guided heirs as well as fiduciaries through the process of probate, and his experience has additionally included the representation of trustees in their administrative duties as well as in related litigation in the event that disputes arise.

Mr. McDonald also represents elderly clients and their family members in matters that involve long-term care planning. He provides advice and counsel on the various types of facilities that are available, and he works with them on such issues as Medicaid planning and ways that they can protect their assets through trusts and other vehicles so as not to jeopardize their eligibility for government benefits.

Mr. McDonald served his country with distinction as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, and he also spent several years as a security officer with the Department of Homeland Security. He is a graduate of what was then known as the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and he is a member of several professional organizations.
