He left the clerkship to be a Prince George's County State's Attorney for the next 6 1/2 years. As a prosecutor who handled murder, rape, child abuse, robbery, drug distribution, dui, traffic, and other types of crimes, Mr. Lovelace was able to hone his skills before a jury or a judge. Having tried almost every type of case and feeling prepared to represent private clients, Mr. Lovelace left the State's Attonrey's Office and joined The Palumbo Law Group in 2006; which eventually became Palumbo, Palumbo & Lovelace.

He was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1999, Maryland in 2000, and later gained admission to the District of Columbia Bar in 2010.Prior to attending law school, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Hill College in 1996.
