Attorney Andrew E. Greenwald is a founding member of the Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, PA, law firm in Greenbelt, Maryland. Recognized as one of the top civil litigators in the nation, Mr. Greenwald devotes his practice exclusively to medical malpractice claims, particularly those involving birth injuries and obstetrical malpractice.
Over the course of his more than 48 years practicing law, Mr. Greenwald has achieved unprecedented success advocating on behalf of families whose loved ones are suffering from the negligence and careless actions of physicians, hospitals, surgeons, obstetricians and pediatricians, and other health care providers.
Through his efforts, he has helped secure millions of dollars in settlements and awards on behalf of his plaintiff clients, earning his lifetime membership into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Widely regarded as a leader in his field, Mr. Greenwald frequently conducts lectures across the country on a variety of legal topics related to medical malpractice claims, and he routinely offers in-depth commentary and testimony on complex litigation cases.
A 1964 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Greenwald attended Georgetown University Law Center, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1967. The District of Columbia Bar admitted him in 1968, and the Maryland State Bar Association admitted him in 1969. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Columbia and the District of Maryland, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and the 4th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
A member of numerous local, state and national bar associations, Mr. Greenwald has served in several leadership roles with the American Association for Justice, including serving as co-chair for the organization's medical malpractice information group and co-chair and board member of the birth trauma litigation group, among others.
