Attorney Linda Hitt Thatcher is the founder and manager of Thatcher Law Firm in Greenbelt, Maryland. A 1981 graduate of Longwood University, Ms. Thatcher obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1986. While there, she served as associate editor of the St. Mary's Law Journal. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
A leader in her legal community, Ms. Thatcher has served as president and member of the board of governors of the Federal Bar Association's Maryland Chapter. She is also a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference and member of the Historical Society for the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Moreover, she maintains active involvement with many other local, state and national legal organizations, including the Women's Bar Associations of Maryland and the District of Columbia, among others.
