Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)

  • Adam Smallow Injury Lawyers recently secured a $400,000 settlement for a client injured in a rideshare accident. Our client was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling in Baltimore, Maryland when her driver, distracted by a cell phone, rear-ended the vehicle in front of them. The crash caused serious injuries, and she was transported by ambulance to the emergency room for treatment. To help demonstrate the extent of her injuries, we obtained an MRI taken before the crash and compared it with imaging performed afterward. This comparison provided objective proof of a significant spinal injury caused by the collision. Due to the severity of her injuries, our client ultimately required neck surgery. Fortunately, she made a strong recovery following the procedure. Rather than pursuing pre-litigation settlement discussions, we made the strategic decision to immediately file a lawsuit after her surgery. Based on our experience and years of data, we anticipated the bad-faith tactics often used by the auto insurance company and believed a "litigation-first" strategy would put our client in the strongest position. That strategy proved successful. After a little more than a year in litigation, the case settled for $400,000., 2026
  • Adam Smallow Injury Lawyers recently helped secure a $115,000 settlement for a client in advance of a jury trial in Baltimore County, Maryland. Our client was struck by a careless driver who blew a stop sign. He faced significant injuries as a result. After the crash, he underwent several tests, including an MRI and EMG. The MRI identified a disc herniation and the EMG revealed nerve damage. He had a long recovery and, years later, is still dealing with pain from the crash. The insurance company ruthlessly attempted to deny and challenge our client's case and injuries at every turn. First, they tried to use Maryland's harsh contributory negligence law against our client and claimed that his headlights were off at the time of the crash. That attack was far from truthful, as the sole cause of the crash was their insured who ran the stop sign. So we filed a lawsuit and proceeded to prepare for a trial. Months later, our client was examined by the insurance company's "independent doctor," who disregarded all of his medical care and stated that his injuries were minor in nature. In spite of all these bad faith tactics by the other side's insurance company, we continued to build our case that was backed by highly skilled medical care and a very engaged client. Ultimately, the other side offered to settle the case but we did not stop negotiating until the case was settled at $115,000. Under some difficult circumstances, our client was very pleased at the successful resolution of his case. , 2026
  • A client of Adam Smallow Injury Lawyers, who was injured when a dump truck crashed into her vehicle in Cecil County, recently obtained a $287,500 settlement. The impact was violent and our client sustained multiple injuries, including a concussion and disc damage to her neck. We did not waste any time negotiating with the insurance company after our client was discharged from medical care. We immediately filed a lawsuit and put the pressure on the insurance company to settle the case for an appropriate amount considering our client's injuries and the impact that it had on her life. Furthermore, we were able to settle the case to our client's satisfaction less than a year after the crash. , 2026
  • Adam Smallow Injury Lawyers obtained a policy limits settlement of $250,000 from one of the most difficult insurance companies in the personal injury business.  Our client was involved in a low impact collision with minor property damage. However, due to her age, her injuries required back surgery and she incurred substantial medical bills as a result. The odds were stacked as the client had already had TWO PRIOR BACK SURGERIES before this car accident. We needed a strategy to deal with such a notorious insurance company, who was going to use the minor property damage and prior injuries against our client. We filed suit after she successfully recovered from surgery and settled the case against the other driver prior to trial for the full policy limits of $250,000. Additionally, our legal team was able to obtain a significant reduction from Medicare, which paid for our client's surgery and related care. This reduction in bills saved our client tens of thousands of dollars, which went directly into her pocket at settlement. Needless to say, she was thrilled with the outcome of the case., 2022
  • Adam Smallow Injury Lawyers obtained the full policy limits of $250,000 for their client who fractured his leg after an e-bike crash in a parking lot in Baltimore County, Maryland. Our client was lawfully operating his vehicle in a parking lot when, suddenly and without warning, a car struck him. The other driver's insurance company attempted to use Maryland's notorious contributory negligence law to deny our client's claim. Adam Smallow and his litigation team went on the offensive first and filed a lawsuit as soon as he client recovered from his injuries. This strategy pressured the other insurance company into offering it's complete insurance limits of $250,000 to settle the claim despite its liability concerns. There was a plan in here place from "Day One" to ensure that our client received the best care and the best settlement.     , 2024
