Andrew R. Italia

Andrew R. Italia is the principal of RLG Law in Rockville, Maryland. With over 17 years of legal practice, he focuses on family law, tackling cases like divorce, child custody, prenuptial agreements, and property disputes. Additionally, he has proficiency in criminal law, DUIs and domestic violence cases. 

Known for his legal acumen and trial abilities, Mr. Italia is committed to achieving positive results for his clients while avoiding unnecessary legal costs. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in government and politics from the University of Maryland in 2004, he received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2007. 

During his tenure at law school, Mr. Italia earned distinction as a member of the Order of the Barristers and held the position of president for the Moot Court Board. Furthermore, he became a semi-finalist in the Myerowitz Moot Court Competition. He was licensed to practice law in Maryland (2007) and the District of Columbia (2010). 

An upstanding figure in the legal community, Mr. Italia is affiliated with the Montgomery County Maryland American Inn of Court, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. He was also chosen for the first cohort of the Montgomery County Bar Association's Leadership Academy. Moreover, he is a certified mediator competent in family law conflict resolution and acts as a child's best interest attorney.

Mr. Italia has a reputation for professionalism and exceptional client service, recognized by awards like the 10 Best in Client Satisfaction from the American Institute of Legal Counsel. He maintains an “Excellent” rating on Avvo. His prior experience includes clerking for Judge Michael D. Mason at the Montgomery County Circuit Court, working at his law school’s Appellate and Post Conviction Clinic, and working in different legal capacities with the Office of the State’s Attorney for Howard County, the Maryland Office of the Public Defender for Montgomery County and the Maryland State Attorney’s Office for Montgomery County.
