Dana K. Whitten

With a focus on family law, Dana K. Whitten represents clients in Rockville, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas as an attorney with the Law Offices of Dana K. Whitten. Her experience includes matters related to separation agreements, protective orders, property division, alimony, child support, child custody and divorce. With a desire to help people, she is committed to helping each client get the best out of an often difficult time in their lives.

Admitted to practice in the state of Maryland, Ms. Whitten attended Rollins College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts before attending law school. At Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School, she graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor. She prides herself on being a good listener and she knows how to mediate, negotiate and defuse what are often tense situations involved in divorce and family law.

In 2019, the Bethesda Magazine selected Ms. Whitten as a Top Attorney for her ability to provide personal support and strong advocacy to her clients. An active participant in the legal community, she is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, the Montgomery Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.

While Ms. Whitten is a skilled negotiator, she also recognizes when it is time to go the distance for her clients through litigation. Throughout her career, she has worked with both small and large firms and gained valuable experience in almost every county in the state that has given her a deeper understanding of the legal process.
