Michael J. Kitzman

Michael J. Kitzman is a Social Security disability and workers’ compensation attorney based in Rockville, Maryland. He founded the Law Office of Michael Kitzman and serves clients throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Kitzman has tried numerous complex personal injury, Social Security and workers’ compensation matters. He is committed to his clients and passionate about fighting for the rights of injury victims.

Mr. Kitzman has experience with various types of injury claims, including those involving workplace injuries, slip-and-fall mishaps and motor vehicle accidents. He is also familiar with the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, a federal law enacted to compensate individuals injured in the waters of the United States or bordering areas.

Hailing from northern Michigan, Mr. Kitzman earned his Bachelor of Arts in German language and international studies from the University of Idaho. He subsequently pursued legal studies at the American University Washington College of Law. While at American University, he honed his courtroom skills through the clinical and trial advocacy programs. In 2007, he successfully completed his Juris Doctor degree and a master’s in international affairs.

Following law school, Mr. Kitzman joined a private firm and practiced there for seven years before opening his own firm in 2015. He is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Away from the office, Mr. Kitzman is committed to professional development and active in his legal community. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar.
