Attorney Mike Rothman is the founder and owner of the Law Office of Mike Rothman, located in Rockville, Maryland. Mike has devoted his professional career to helping those accused of felony and misdemeanor criminal charges, as well as to consumers victimized by unethical or unlawful business practices.
As a criminal defense attorney, he has represented thousands of clients facing serious felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic offenses including DUI/DWI, drug crimes, sex crimes, white collar crimes and more. He has extensive experience defending those facing drug charges in Maryland related to their possession and use of medical marijuana.
Mike has also been a pioneer in the medical cannabis movement. In 2011 he started the Medical Cannabis Law Group to represent individuals and corporations in setting up and operating new cannabis dispensaries, processing facilities, and cultivation facilities.
Mike graduated from Emory University, earned his Master's Degree in Public Administration from The George Washington University, and attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor with honors in 1999.
Along with being licensed to practice in both Maryland and Washington, D.C., he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mike has been selected to the Super Lawyers list in criminal defense since 2011. Mike has also been named by the Washington, DC City Paper (Reader’s Choice Award) Finalist Best Attorney (Criminal Defense) and The Daily Record's Criminal Law Power List.
