    Attorney Profile

I am the head of the Estate Planning Group at Reinstein, Glackin & Herriott. In May, 2019, I earned an LL.M. in Taxation and a Certificate in Estate Planning from the University of Baltimore School of Law, which has been a great supplement to the tax and estate planning coursework I completed while studying at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  I am currently serving as the chair of the Membership Committee on the Estate and Trust Section Council for the MSBA.

My practice focuses on the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, advanced medical directives, financial powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney.

Prior to focusing my practice solely on estate planning, I also practiced family law, including complex divorce and custody matters. My experience in that field has given me a unique perspective on the intricacies of planning estates for divorced persons and blended families.

One of my strongest passions is health and fitness. Of course, the phrase "health and fitness" does not mean the same thing to every person.

To me, health and fitness not only refers to one's physical well-being, which is definitely important, but it also includes financial well-being. Financial well-being starts with planning for what will inevitably happen to all of us at some point (hopefully, far down the road!).

Contrary to what most people believe, estate planning is not just for the ultra-wealthy. Everyone can benefit from planning, especially if minor or disabled children are involved. It is even more important to plan if you have a blended family; I bet you'd be surprised as to what the "default" would be in your situation (i.e., what would happen to your assets and your children if you pass away without a plan in place).

I would be happy to answer your questions about estate planning to see what tools would be right for you.

Aside from my practice in estate planning, I also have extensive experience preparing both Qualified Domestic Relations Orders ("QDROs") and non-qualified retirement orders, including, but not limited to orders to divide military pensions, CSRS/FERS pensions, Thrift Savings Plans and Maryland State Retirement Plans. My services in this regard range from simply preparing draft language for a property settlement agreement to preparation of the domestic relations order and submission to the Plan Administrator. If you are in need of a domestic relations order for yourself or your client, please let me know how I can help.
