Sharon T. Diamant is the founding and managing partner of Diamant Gerstein, LLC, in Rockville, Maryland. With more than 25 years of courtroom experience, she has built her reputation on delivering skillful, compassionate advocacy without subjecting clients to unnecessary fees. Ms. Diamant regularly appears before magistrates and judges on a full spectrum of domestic and criminal law issues, including peace and protective orders, and is frequently called upon to navigate cases that straddle both fields. Her thoughtful advocacy was spotlighted by WJLA 24/7 News in a landmark grandparent custody matter where she secured rights for a grandparent after the mother’s untimely passing and the father’s incarceration.

Since earning her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1999, Ms. Diamant has been admitted to practice in Maryland, Florida, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (Greenbelt) and the U.S. Supreme Court. Before entering private practice, she served as a Montgomery County prosecutor for a decade – first in the district court handling thousands of misdemeanor cases, then in the juvenile division specializing in crimes of child sexual abuse, and, beginning in 2008, on the Special Prosecution Team in the felony division prosecuting financial crimes, fraud, embezzlement and matters involving public officials.

An active member of her professional community, Ms. Diamant sits on Montgomery County’s Judicial Nominating Commission and serves on the board of the Sobeloff Society. She holds memberships in the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the Collaborative Divorce Law Society, the National College for DUI Defense, the Montgomery County Ethics Committee, the Montgomery County Criminal Law Society and the Inns of Court.
