Virginia B. Joehl

Virginia B. Joehl is the principal attorney of Joehl Law, located in Rockville, Maryland. A court-appointed representative for children in contested custody cases and a court-approved mediator for custody cases, she offers competent representation to the residents of Maryland in family law matters such as divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and marital agreements.

A level-headed attorney with a background in psychology, Ms. Joehl goes above and beyond to assist her clients in resolving their challenging and exquisitely sensitive family matters in every possible way. She is known for being compassionate toward her clients while being steadfast in her pursuit of justice. Her 25-plus years of experience make her a formidable and highly respected legal advocate for her clients. 

Ms. Joehl’s academic credentials include an undergraduate degree in psychology, which she earned in 1989, from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor from The University of Baltimore, which she obtained in 1995. She spent the first six years of her legal career honing her skills at a well-known general litigation firm and then went on to establish her first solo practice, focusing on family law litigation.

Authorized to practice law in Maryland, Ms. Joehl stays active in the Bar Association of Montgomery County, The Bar Association of Frederick County, the Maryland State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Maryland Association for Justice and the Montgomery County Maryland American Inn of Court. A volunteer with the Montgomery County Bar Foundation Pro Bono Program, she lectures at the Montgomery County Commission for Women.
