Kerri Cohen is an attorney with the Law Offices of Kerri Cohen and handles matters majority family law cases as well as criminal defense and other civil matters. The first 11 years of her career were spent at the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore city for the state of Maryland, where she handled charges as serious as murder, rape, drug offenses, and robbery.

While clerking for a judge in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Ms. Cohen developed a passion for both criminal and family law. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism. At the University of Baltimore School of Law, she obtained her Juris Doctor and has since earned her Certificate in Mediation and worked in the Family Law Clinic representing clients as permitted under the Maryland Rules. 

Admitted to practice law in 2001, Ms. Cohen has been recognized by her peers for her outstanding ethics and accomplishments in her legal practice. Within her family law practice, she handles cases of collaborative law, domestic partnership agreements, guardianship, paternity, adoption, legal separation, modifications, child and spousal support, custody and visitation, and uncontested and contested divorce.

Ms. Cohen is completing her year as Vice-Chairperson for the Family Law Committee of the Baltimore County Bar Association and will assume the role of Chairperson in June 2022 though May 2023. She looks forward to assisting colleges in the bar association as Chair with continuing legal education, attending meetings, and planning bar events.
