Attorney Jeffrey L. Harding is the founder and principal of Harding Law, LLC, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. A former Prince George's County prosecutor, he prosecuted numerous high-profile cases, and he uses the knowledge and experience he gained in that role to devise the most effective defense strategies possible for the accused.

In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Harding has also defended clients in complex personal injury and wrongful death actions, particularly those arising from drunk driving accidents and other tragedies purportedly caused by his clients' negligence or wrongdoing.

He then attended California Western School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1984. While there, he was a member of the National Trial Team, and he served as staff writer and editor for the school's law journal. He also received the Faculty Award for his excellent academic achievements in Appellate Advocacy.

Mr. Harding is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. He is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, and he serves on the board of directors of the Prince George's County Bar Association as well as the organization's Judicial Selection Committee.

  • State vs Eubanks - defended Mr. Eubanks in a murder case and obtained not guilty on all counts.  Mr. Eubanks was sued civilly by the decedent's family and Mr. Harding obtained a verdict on behalf of Mr. Eubanks.
  • Mr. Harding has obtained numerous settlements and verdicts in personal injury cases; including a verdict of $800,000 in a wrongful death case; $710,000 in another wrongful death case; $240,000 in a slip and fall, and many six-figure awards. 
  • Mr. Harding has obtained dismissals and not guilty verdicts in numerous criminal cases, including DWI, assault, robbery, sexual offenses, rape, drugs, guns and murder cases.
  • As a prosecutor, the 1987 trial of Brian Tribble accused of supplying the cocaine that killed University of Maryland basketball star Len Bias.

  • As a prosecutor, the first conviction in Prince George's county of a husband for raping his wife. Ralph J. Carbaugh Jr.'s 1991 conviction also became the second conviction of a husband for rape in the state of Maryland.
  • Has obtained acquittals and dismissals in numerous criminal cases, including  acquittal after trial of Washington Wizard Michael Smith for assault charges.
  • The 1989 conviction of Steven L. Steward, alleged drug ring enforcer, for killing a crack dealer during a robbery.
  • As a prosecutor, the 1991 conviction of Daniel T. Brashear for the tape recorded killing of his girlfriend.

  • As a prosecutor, the 1988 conviction of a former Washington police officer Thurlow K. Norris for auto theft. The four week trial was the longest ever in the county.
