Max G. Frizalone

Max G. Frizalone is a Maryland criminal defense attorney and founding partner of FrizWoods LLC, representing clients facing DUI, felony, and serious misdemeanor charges throughout Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, Charles, Calvert, and Baltimore counties. He has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2024, 2025, and 2026 — a designation awarded to no more than 2.5% of Maryland attorneys — and was named an "Up and Coming Lawyer in Criminal Defense" by What's Up? Annapolis Magazine in 2025.

Before founding FrizWoods, Max served as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Juvenile Division of the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office, prosecuting violent felony cases from investigation through verdict. Earlier in his career, he was a staff attorney with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where he represented clients in hundreds of contested DUI, weapons, drug, and assault matters. This combination of prosecutorial and public defender experience — uncommon among Maryland criminal defense attorneys — allows him to anticipate the State's strategy and identify weaknesses in charging decisions, plea offers, breath and blood test administration, and field sobriety procedures.

Max has personally defended more than 3000 clients in District and Circuit Courts across Maryland and has secured hundreds of dismissals in DUI, handgun, domestic violence, and felony cases. He has contested over 700 matters through motions hearings, bench trials, and jury trials, including DUI per se cases, breath test refusal cases, and MVA license suspension hearings before the Office of Administrative Hearings. His DUI defense practice covers first-offense DUI, repeat-offense DUI, commercial driver (CDL) DUI, and underage DUI matters.

Max is a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association (MCDAA), the Prince George's County Bar Association, and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association. He is peer reviewed by Martindale-Hubbell. He earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 2019. Max is fluent in English and Spanish and consults with new clients from FrizWoods offices in Upper Marlboro, Columbia, Severna Park, and North Beach.
