David C. Strouss

As a partner at Thornton Law Firm LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, David C. Strouss represents individuals and families in civil litigation, with a focus on high-stakes product liability and toxic tort matters. His practice centers on cases involving birth defects linked to chemical exposure, pharmaceutical drug and medical device litigation, toxic tort and environmental litigation, and claims involving Roundup and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Mr. Strouss is known for his strategic approach to mass tort and environmental cases, combining thorough legal analysis with a commitment to client advocacy. He also has experience handling attorney general and tobacco litigation, advocating for public health and consumer protection. He works closely with clients to handle complicated scientific and regulatory issues, building strong cases designed to hold corporations accountable and pursue meaningful recoveries.

Academically, Mr. Strouss graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Brown University in 1978. Later, he went on to pursue his legal studies at Northeastern University School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1985. During law school, he developed a foundation in public interest law and litigation.

Admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1985, Mr. Strouss is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. In acknowledgment of his professional achievements, he has earned an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest possible honor.

An active member of the legal community, he belongs to the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers.
