Details
Devan Braun is an attorney at KP Law, P.C., in Boston, Massachusetts, and helps her clients with complex legal matters related to land use and zoning, environmental law and general, civil and municipal litigation. Licensed to practice in Massachusetts since 2018, she is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to this practice, she served as a clerk to the Hon. Justice Lenk of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for the 2018-2019 term.
A 2014 B.A. degree graduate (double major in psychology and political science) from McGill University, Ms. Braun was very active during her undergraduate studies, serving important roles in the Office of Students with Disabilities, the Model Arab League and the Student Ambassador Program. She then went on to attend the Northeastern University School of Law, where she was the senior staff editor for the Northeastern University Law Review, a student attorney at the Prisoners’ Rights Clinic, chair of the Environmental Law Society, the communications officer for the International Law Society and a part of the Human Rights Caucus and the Women’s Law Caucus.
Before receiving her Juris Doctor in 2018, Ms. Braun spent considerable time getting acquainted with the many different state organizations and legal structures where she would spend most of her practice in the future. This includes interning for the Honorable Allison D. Burroughs of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Center for International Environmental Law, as well as the Environmental Protection Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. The glimpse of the hard work and endurance required to sustain and thrive in that kind of environment allowed her to hone her shrewd legal acumen to fit those requirements.
Outside her law practice, Ms. Braun maintains active memberships in prominent organizations such as the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association and the Conservation Commission of the City of Chelsea. For her many active contributions in progressing forward innovative and client-centric ideals, she was included in the Top Women of Law list by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
