Eric H. Karp

A partner at Warner, Federico & Ryan LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, Eric H. Karp serves his clients with enthusiastic zeal in their important business law matters, with a focused emphasis on franchise law involving franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreements, as well as dealing with vendors and suppliers. He serves businesses throughout the surrounding region and is revered within his legal community for his personalized approach to dealing with the issues his clients face. 

Academically accomplished, Mr. Karp enrolled in the Boston University School of Law, where he honed his shrewd legal acumen and talents that have laid the foundation for his practice since. He received his Juris Doctor in 1977, and in the same year, he obtained his license to practice law across all Massachusetts state courts. Later on, he was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Supreme Court of the United States. 

Never one to back down from challenging legal obstacles that stand in the way of his clients’ goals, Mr. Karp uses his 45-plus years of experience and practical knowledge accrued over that period to counsel them on what steps they need to take to resolve their legal issues expeditiously and with grace. For his many contributions, he has been peer-review rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest rating, and holds a “Very Good” rating on Avvo. Furthermore, he has also been named to The International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers and recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America. 

Outside his law practice, Mr. Karp is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the North American Securities Administrators Association (part of the Business Opportunities Committee). At the American Franchisee Association, he is on the board of directors and chair of the Model Responsible Franchise Practices Act committee.
