Gerry D'Ambrosio

Gerry D’Ambrosio is the founder and managing partner of D’Ambrosio LLP, in Boston, Massachusetts, where he brings more than 30 years of legal and business experience to his clients. Widely recognized for his work as a winning trial lawyer, he provides experienced counsel on high-stakes business litigation, complex transactions and large-scale development projects including land use and zoning expertise. He has successfully litigated hundreds of matters before Massachusetts trial courts and argued appeals before both the Supreme Judicial Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

Attorney D’Ambrosio routinely advises businesses, private equity firms, and developers on large-cap development strategies, financing, permitting and risk management. His extensive knowledge of Massachusetts government, regulatory, and compliance issues makes him a trusted adviser for clients navigating sophisticated business and land use disputes, government investigations, and multimillion-dollar civil cases.  Attorney D’Ambrosio’s cases have been featured in The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald and The Boston Business Journal, while the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has recognized his trial work as being among the “Biggest Defense Wins of the Year” and regularly publishes his commentary on pressing legal issues related to economic and land use development in the Commonwealth.

Appointed by the Governor of Massachusetts, Attorney D’Ambrosio serves on the Commonwealth’s Judicial Nominating Commission, where he advises the Governor on judicial appointments. He has also contributed legal scholarship to various publications, including West’s Massachusetts Practice series.

Attorney D’Ambrosio started his career as a judicial law clerk for a prominent federal judge in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in the early 1990s.  He went on to serve as a state prosecutor and large firm attorney before founding D’Ambrosio LLP.  He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk Law School, where he served as a Law Review Editor and Trustee Scholar, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and the Scarlet Key Honor Societies.

A child migrant to the United States, Attorney D’Ambrosio was raised in Boston’s diverse neighborhoods and is conversant in Italian and Spanish.  He actively gives back through board service, charitable events, and support for local initiatives.
