Mr. Swartz graduated cum laude from Tufts University in Massachusetts in 1987, where he received his Bachelor of Arts. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., in 1990. During his time at Georgetown, he was executive editor of The Tax Lawyer from 1989 to 1990. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

As a member of the American Association for Justice since 2008, Mr. Swartz was selected as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in Massachusetts. Additionally, his peers have given him the highest possible rating of AV-Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell.
