James F. Coffey

Serving as the managing principal at Coffey & Associates in Boston, Massachusetts, James F. Coffey is an attorney with over three decades of experience in corporate litigation. Handling matters involving bankruptcy law, capital formation, contracts and licensing, creditors’ rights, intellectual property, and mergers and acquisitions, among others, he serves clients in the Cape Cod area and throughout Boston.

With his expansive experience in trials, Mr. Coffey understands the challenges and stresses of an ongoing litigation. He ensures that he as an advocate stands with his clients throughout the litigation process and provides them with quality service. As a calm and a dependable person, he prioritizes communication and adaptability to changing situations.

Graduating from Providence College with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Mr. Coffey enrolled at New England Law | Boston and gained his Juris Doctor in 1988. While at law school, he worked with the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement. He proceeded to gain his Master of Laws degree in corporate law from the New York University School of Law, where he was a Gerald L. Wallace Scholar. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar Association in 1988 and started his practice the following year.
