    Attorney Profile

Jeff Rosin, the Managing Partner of O’Hagan Meyer’s Boston office, is also a founding member of the firm’s Franchise Law Practice Group. For almost 25 years, he has litigated employment and franchise cases and advised companies large and small on critical matters pertaining to their businesses and workforce.

Jeff regularly litigates class actions and individual actions pertaining to alleged wage-hour violations, misclassification of independent contractors, commission disputes and discrimination lawsuits.  He is also a respected resource in high-stakes non-compete/trade secret litigation, as well as in disputes between majority and minority shareholders and other intra-corporate matters.  Jeff’s clients have included both franchisors and franchisees, airlines and their contractors, hospitals, restaurants and retailers.

Jeff’s cases have been tried in the state and federal courts, private arbitration, and before administrative agencies.  He is also a go-to advocate and national resource when the U.S. Department of Labor or state government auditors investigate and challenge companies’ and franchisors’ wage-hour practices.

Jeff’s franchise litigation experience includes defending franchisors against claims of misclassification, unfair conduct toward franchisees, joint employment and vicarious liability.  One of Jeff’s noteworthy cases, (Depianti v. Jan-Pro Franchising International, Inc. 990 N.E.2d 1054 (Mass. 2013), was argued before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and set the standard for vicarious liability of franchisors under Massachusetts’s law.

Jeff is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

His track record has earned him an "Excellent" peer review rating through Avvo. He is a graduate of New York University School of Law, a former law clerk to the Hon. Kevin Thomas Duffy, S.D.N.Y., and a former partner and Chair of the Franchise Industry Practice Group at Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP.
