Peter J. Karol

Peter Karol is Of Counsel with Sunstein and Professor of Law and Director of the Intellectual Property Concentration at New England Law | Boston. He has spent over fifteen years with the Sunstein law firm, where he was formerly a partner of the firm prior to joining the faculty at the law school.

Peter continues to counsel clients on all aspects of patent, trademark and copyright litigation matters, as well as trademark and copyright portfolio development. He is experienced in all aspects of intellectual property practice, ranging from federal court litigation to proceedings before the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as brand and creative management and licensing. His practice has also included representation of art museums, galleries and contemporary artists.

As a scholar, Peter has written award-winning articles concerning a wide range of aspects of U.S. trademark and copyright law. He presents to a range of audiences and makes regular media appearances on all manner of intellectual property topics.
