Sarah Yun

Sarah Yun is an associate at Sugarman in Boston, Massachusetts, where she offers compassionate, detail-oriented advocacy to clients recovering from serious personal injuries. Since joining the firm as a paralegal in 2016, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication in guiding injury victims through complex litigation while balancing the rigors of law school.

During her tenure as a paralegal, Ms. Yun played a key role in high-stakes medical malpractice and personal injury matters. She second- and third-chaired multiple medical malpractice trials and collaborated closely with senior partners on all phases of case development, from initial client interviews through trial preparation and post-trial motions. Her contributions were instrumental in securing a reported $30.55 million verdict in 2019 – one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in Massachusetts history – and the firm’s record-setting plaintiff’s personal injury recovery in 2022.

A 2022 graduate of Boston University School of Law, Ms. Yun enriched her legal education through service on the BU Law Review and leadership as an executive board member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. She also gained valuable judicial experience during her internship with the Honorable Patti Barbara Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Following graduation, Ms. Yun joined a major international law firm, where she handled complex intellectual property and commercial litigation as well as pro bono civil rights matters. She then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Myong Joun of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, deepening her insight into federal court practice before returning to Sugarman as an associate in 2025.

Ms. Yun remains actively engaged in the legal community. She sits on the board of directors of the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Women’s Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. Her collaborative approach, rigorous preparation and genuine compassion continue to benefit the firm’s clients and uphold the highest standards of trial advocacy.
