    Steve’s clients include (or have recently included) American Honda, Analog Devices, Athenahealth, Celgene, Cognex, Endeca Technologies (acquired by Oracle), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MKS Instruments, Inc., MobileMedia Ideas, MPEG-LA, Office Depot, Payless ShoeSource, Progress Software, SeaChange International, Sonus Networks, T-Mobile, and Transamerica Life Insurance.

    Steve currently serves as a Visiting Lecturer at MIT, where he co-teaches 6.903, a full semester course on patents and intellectual property jointly listed in the MIT Sloan School and the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering. He is also a member of the Roster of Neutrals of the American Arbitration Association, from which he is called upon to act as an arbitrator in disputes in the U.S. and abroad, relating to technically complex license and patent matters. Steve has also been an arbitrator for matters administered by the German Institution of Arbitration and the International Chamber of Commerce.

    Steve regularly speaks to some of the leading industry and academic groups involved with patent policy, and has been quoted in the national press on intellectual property issues, including in The Economist, Nature, Associated Press, Forbes, and InfoWorld. He also has been a member of the Executive Committee of the United States chapter of the AIPPI; Vice Chair of the Litigation Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO); editor of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Quarterly Journal; on the Board of Advisors of the Boston University Law School Science and Technology Journal; and he was an Adjunct Professor at Boston University School of Law for fifteen years, where he taught trial advocacy and patent and computer law courses.
