Adam Russell

Adam Russell is the founder of Russell Defense Firm in Brighton, Massachusetts, and a seasoned criminal defense attorney known for taking on challenging cases and delivering strong courtroom advocacy. With more than a decade of experience defending clients across Massachusetts, he focuses his practice on serious criminal matters, including OUI/DUI charges, drug offenses and violent crime allegations. He is especially recognized for handling complex cases involving high blood alcohol allegations, accidents, and situations where informants or cooperating witnesses play a central role.

Mr. Russell’s path to the legal profession is anything but conventional. Before law school, he competed as a college basketball player, worked demanding blue collar jobs in Boston and gained experience in the corporate banking world. These experiences shaped his work ethic, resilience and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Maine while competing in NCAA men’s varsity basketball, then went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While still in law school, he became deeply involved with the National College for DUI Defense, laying the foundation for a practice focused on sophisticated OUI defense from the very start of his career.

Since his admission to the bar in 2010, Mr. Russell has secured notable outcomes for clients in both Eastern and Western Massachusetts. His commitment to continued legal education includes advanced training through nationally recognized criminal defense organizations, and he regularly works to stay ahead of evolving legal and scientific issues in criminal cases. He has also shared his knowledge through professional presentations to fellow attorneys.
