He has won 'not guilty' verdicts on charges including armed robbery, attempted murder, armed assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to rape, assault with intent to rape a child, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (ABDW), aggravated ABDW, carrying a loaded firearm, disseminating harmful matter to a minor, indecent assault and battery on a child, malicious destruction of property, mayhem, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, rape, rape of a child, unarmed robbery, witness intimidation, and other charges.

PROTECTING RIGHTS BY SUPPRESSING EVIDENCE

Attorney Grimaldi has successfully moved to suppress evidence from many of his clients's cases.  He has won suppression of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana on numerous occasions by proving that the police illegally searched his clients, their cars, or their homes. He has also won motions to suppress firearms and ammunition, including large capacity weapons.  By winning suppression of the evidence in these cases, Attorney Grimaldi also won dismissal of the charges for his clients.

Attorney Grimaldi has extensive experience in challenging police interrogation and investigative practices. He has successfully moved to suppress his clients's statements to police by proving that the police coerced the statements and violated his clients's constitutional rights.  He has also won motions to suppress witness identifications of his clients by proving that the police used unconstitutional methods to obtain the identifications.  Attorney Grimaldi has achieved significant success in suppressing electronic and computer evidence, including suppression of evidence from his clients's cell phones and online social networking accounts.

  • Commonwealth v. R.D. Case Description: The Commonwealth alleged that Attorney Grimaldi's client assaulted an individual with a loaded, unlicensed firearm. At trial, Attorney Grimaldi demonstrated that the alleged victim falsely accused his client.  Result: Not Guilty
  • Commonwealth v. S.P.  Case description: The Commonwealt charged Attorney Grimaldi's client with intentionally hitting another person with a car in an act of road rage.  At trial, Attorney Grimaldi proved that the Commonwealth's witnesses were unreliable.  Result: Not Guilty
  • Commonwealth v. G.A. Case Description: The Commonwealth alleged that the client committed domestic assault and battery on his former girlfriend.  At trial, Attorney Grimaldi showed that the alleged vicitm had falsely accused his client out of jealousy.  Result: Not guilty
  • Commonwealth v. M.R. Case Description: The Commonwealth alleged that Attorney Grimaldi's client stabbed one person, robbed two people, and physically assaulted three people during the course of an evening.  Attorney Grimaldi aggressively challenged the credibility of all the Commonwealth's witnesses at trial. Result: Not guilty.
  • Commonwealth v. C.O. Case Description: The Commonwealth alleged that Attorney Grimaldi's client raped a teeanager and intimidated a witness.  Attorney Grimaldi aggressively challenged the prosecution's evidence at trial. Result: Not Guilty
