Details

The founder of Barach Law Group LLC, Matthew P. Barach focuses his practice on divorce and other family law matters. From the firm’s offices in Framingham, Massachusetts, he represents clients throughout the greater Boston metropolitan area as well as in other parts of the eastern portion of the Commonwealth. Mr. Barach has been admitted to practice in Massachusetts since 1995, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Barach attended Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he majored in government and history and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1992. Upon his graduation, he was inducted into The Phi Beta Kappa Society. Mr. Barach then went on to pursue his legal education at the University of California, Hastings Law, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1995. He has been in private practice since that time.

Many of Mr. Barach’s clients are people whose marriages are coming to an end and who need assistance in dealing with child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and the division of marital assets and debts. His experience in mediation allows him to help many of them come to an accord on these matters in a relatively amicable way without having to go through a divisive and often lengthy courtroom battle, but he is an accomplished advocate when litigation becomes necessary. Mr. Barach also helps clients who have already been divorced and who are now attempting to modify or enforce existing support and parenting orders, and he has handled paternity cases as well. He is the author of a treatise on family law appeals that was published by the American Bar Association.
