Verdicts/Settlements:

  • Client was diagnosed with dementia and living alone was suffering from dehydration, elevated blood sugar levels, and high blood pressure.  Her house was unsafe due to mold growing throughout the it.  Client refused to move.  Family opted to pursue guardianship.  I was contacted by the Brookline Counsel on Aging and asked to advocate for Client.  By gaining Client’s trust and working with her closely, I persuaded Client to relocate from her home of 50 years into assisted living.  Client is happier, healthier and thriving.  Client’s family withdrew the guardianship petition and there is no more discord.  I am very proud that I helped Client retain her dignity, control of her circumstance, and simultaneously be safe.  I also prevented an acrimonious court battle among the family members., 2019

Representative Clients:

  • After six months of negotiations, Client and his team, of which I am a member, successfully persuaded current trustees to resign as Client's trustee thus allowing Client to appoint me and another fiduciary as his co-trustees.  The successful negotiations avoided the need for probate litigation and the suing of Client's former fiduciary.  This preserved the principal which Client may now enjoy and freed up a significant amount of principal which can now be invested and used to benefit Client/Beneficiary., 2019
