Focusing her practice exclusively on family law matters, Jordana Kershner is a member of Baskin Kershner & Thorp, LLC. She attended Tulane University as an undergraduate, where she majored in political science and English and obtained a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 2005. A few years later, Ms. Kershner went on to pursue her legal education at Boston University School of Law, and she served as the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Law & Medicine and was awarded internships with the Office of the Attorney General at Connecticut and with a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut before being awarded her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2011.
Ms. Kershner’s firm is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and she represents people throughout the greater metropolitan area. She guides her clients through the applicable legal issues of property division, spousal and child support, and child custody. An experienced courtroom advocate when litigation proves to be necessary, Ms. Kershner often helps her clients come to an accord on these matters through conciliation or through her handling the negotiations of a comprehensive settlement agreement. Ms. Kershner also assists clients with pre- and post-nuptial agreements, post-divorce modifications, and paternity matters.
The adroit method in which Ms. Kershner handles what are often sensitive and emotional matters has earned her a great deal of respect from her colleagues, including a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts since 2011, she stays abreast of current developments in family law through her participation in several professional organizations, including the Family Law Section of the Boston Bar Association, of which she is a former co-chair, and the Greater Boston Family Law American Inn of Court. She regularly volunteers her time with the courts through the SERV and Judge Abber programs.
