Leila J. Wons

The founder of her eponymous law firm that is based in Northborough, Massachusetts, Leila J. Wons focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters. Providing dedicated representation to clients throughout Worcester, Middlesex and Norfolk Counties, she has been admitted to practice in Massachusetts since 2008. Held in high regard by her colleagues for the manner in which she handles what are often sensitive matters, Ms. Wons has received a "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo, and she has been named by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys as one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys Under Age 40. In addition, she is included in The National Advocates: Top 40 under 40.

Ms. Wons devotes a significant portion of her practice to furnishing advice and counsel to people who are going through a divorce and who are thus having to deal with property division, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. A forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, she Is also a trained mediator and collaborative law attorney, and this allows her to often help her clients resolve their matters through the use of those alternative dispute resolution methods. Attorney Wons is a court appointed Guardian ad Litem, tasked with investigating what is in the best interests of children whose parents are litigating custody disputes. She also serves as a court appointed ARC counsel, representing children and advocating for their position when his or her parents disagree over custody or the parenting schedule. 

In addition to her matrimonial practice, Ms. Wons has assisted clients whose marriages have already been dissolved and who are now asking the court to modify or enforce parenting or support orders, as well as clients who are not married to their children’s other parent. Her other family law experience has included prenuptial agreements, LGBT issues, grandparents' rights and paternity disputes, and she has represented domestic violence victims who are seeking protective orders.

Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Wons pursued her undergraduate education at Wellesley College and received a Bachelor of Arts in 2005. She then went on to attend Northeastern University School of Law on a merit-based scholarship and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2008.
