She led MassNAELA as its president in 2014 and held the presidency of the Massachusetts Guardianship Association in 2010 and 2011.   • Appeal No: 1718268 JS vs. MassHealth - at issue was whether the Entrance Deposit paid upon admission to the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Linden Ponds, was a countable asset for MassHealth eligibility purposes in a case where one member of the couple resided in the CCRC's nursing home and the other resided in her independent apartment at the CCRC. According to the decision, "the appellants have carried their burden of showing, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the deposit fee they paid to the CCRC is not an available resource in a MassHealth eligibility determination." Community Spouse protections apply in CCRCs just as they do in any other setting under the MassHealth regulations., 2018
