Matthew N. Gilman

Serving clients throughout Massachusetts, Matthew N. Gilman is the founder of Gilman Law, PC, in Shirley and Worcester, Massachusetts. He helps clients with various legal matters involving DUI/DWI/OUI, license suspension defense and immediate threat license suspension. 

A Clark University graduate, Mr. Gilman has a bachelor’s in government and international relations and a master’s in public administration. He then enrolled at the Suffolk University Law School, where he was a dean’s list student, a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor society and the recipient of Academic Leadership scholarship. Furthermore, he was honored with the Distinguished Oral Advocate Award and received the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence in contract law. 

Graduating summa sum laude with his Juris Doctor in 2014, Mr. Gilman was licensed to practice in Massachusetts the same year. Prior to founding his firm, he worked as a hearing officer at the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), reviewing numerous immediate threat requests from police and medical professionals across the state. He also handled administrative license OUI/DUI suspension hearings. 

With extensive experience in Massachusetts license suspension law and OUI/DUI Defense, Mr. Gilman represents clients in RMV license suspension hearings, the Division of Insurance Board of Appeal hearings and before all the state courts of Massachusetts. Well known for his vast knowledge of the law and his zealous representation, he ensures his clients are always kept in the loop about the case proceedings. He holds a “Very Good” rating on Avvo with plenty of positive client reviews and endorsements from fellow attorneys. 

Mr. Gilman maintains active memberships with the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association. Rooted in Massachusetts, he enjoys his spare time golfing and spending time with his family by the Lewis Bay in West Yarmouth or on the Highland Lake in New Hampshire.
