Before beginning practice as a fractional general counsel, Michael served as Vice President, General Counsel for Kaseya LLC, a global private equity backed provider of IT management software and services where he was a member of the senior management team. Michael also served in a non-legal role for the company as Vice President, Real Estate and Facilities, overseeing the operations of more than 25 overseas and domestic offices. Prior to Kaseya, he served as legal counsel to IBM Corporation as part of its mergers and acquisitions team where he provided general counsel services to IBM acquired companies during their integration into IBM. Michael has also held a variety of legal leadership positions at publicly traded high tech and biotech companies, including Unica Corporation, ATG, Inc., Bally's Casino Corporation, and Bayer Corporation, representing those businesses in a broad range of corporate transactions such as technology licensing, equipment leasing, mergers and acquisitions, and employment related matters.
Michael began his career as a litigator for the prestigious New Jersey law firm of Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland and Perretti where he worked on numerous high profile cases including multi-million dollar actions on behalf of Prudential Insurance Company, R.J. Reynolds Corporation and Merck & Co.
A graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, Michael was an Editor for the Villanova University Law Review and of Bucknell University where he earned a double major in Political Science and History. He is the author of several articles including "The Presumption of Due Care and the Law of Comparative Negligence" and was featured in the October 2016 issue of Modern Counsel Magazine where he was interviewed about his transition from IBM to lead the Kaseya legal team. Michael serves on the President of the New England Corporate Counsel Association, is a member of the Business Lawyers Network and TechGC, and is on the board of directors of his town's Little League.
