Details
Alissa Emily Brill is an associate attorney at the law firm of Callahan | Barraco in Massachusetts, where she practices family law.
At the University of Rochester in New York, Ms. Brill’s strong academic showing placed her on the dean’s list for four years. After earning a bachelor’s degree in political science, she went on to earn her law degree at Northeastern University School of Law. As a law student, she concentrated her studies on health law and policy. She served on the Northeastern University Law Journal and the Student Bar Association, amongst other organizations.
In her practice, Ms. Brill works on a wide variety of issues under the umbrella of family law, including divorce, child custody, alimony, paternity, post-divorce modifications and contempt matters. In addition, she represents parties in guardianship of minor and guardianship of incapacitated persons actions. She says she chose these areas as her practice areas because she knows how profoundly these issues can affect the lives of her clients. She says she hopes that, by providing professional and compassionate representation to her clients, she can ease some of the burdens they carry at what is often the most difficult period of their lives.
After becoming an attorney, Ms. Brill worked spent almost two years as a full-time staff attorney for the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association and thereafter worked at a law firm in the Boston area. She also volunteers with organizations, including Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston, Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Ms. Brill is proficient in Spanish.
