Amanda N. Murray

Amanda N. Murray is the managing partner at Bassett Murray Law Group, PLLC, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. For over nine years, she has served clients in and around Ann Arbor with matters involving elder law, estate planning, probate, special needs planning and LGBTQ rights. She creates strategies and fights for people when they are at their most helpless.

Ms. Murray guides families through challenging situations and creates thorough estate plans to address future requirements out of a genuine passion for elder law and a desire to help others. Not only does she help clients with long-term care, Medicaid planning and VA benefits, but also helps families draw together through adoption and assisted reproduction by working as a guardian, trustee or conservator.

Graduating cum laude, Ms. Murray has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the Eastern Michigan University. She studied law at the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating in the top 10% of her class and earning her Juris Doctor in 2012. During law school, she was a member of the Law Review and served as a teaching assistant for scholarly writing.

Additionally, Ms. Murray interned at the 14A-1 District Court in Washtenaw County and externed at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She also clerked at the Michigan Poverty Law Program and volunteered at the State Appellate Defender’s Office.

An active member of the legal society, Ms. Murray currently serves as a council member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Elder Law and Disability Rights Section and formerly served as co-chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association’s LGBTQ Section. Honored for the legal services she provides, she is listed on the Best Lawyers Ones to Watch list and has a “Very Good” rating on Avvo. She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
