He also sub-specializes in driver's license restoration and appeal cases.  During the course of his 20+year career, he has successfully helped thousands of people with civil, criminal and license cases and has tried more than 200 cases to completion.  He has achieved the highest rating (AV-Preeminent) by Martindale Hubbell, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and is rated 10/10 by Avvo.com.

Mr. Geherin's prior experience as a prosecuting Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles granted him deep insight into the criminal justice system from the other side of the docket. As a deputy district attorney, he prosecuted criminal cases ranging from narcotics violations to drunk driving to white collar crimes.  As a defense attorney, he has defended virtually every felony and misdemeanor offense on Michigan's books.  Mr. Geherin has parlayed his significant trial experience is a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney into a successful career fighting for individuals in the civil litigation arena, on cases ranging from wrongful death, personal injury due to automobile negligence, civil rights, and Dram Shop violations.

After graduating with honors from Michigan State University with a B.S. in humanities and pre-law, Mr. Geherin attended the California Western School of Law, earning his J.D. cum laude. While there, he served as the Executive Editor of the school's Law Review and won three American Jurisprudence Awards in addition to winning the school's moot court trial competition.

Mr. Geherin knows that providing skillful representation to his clients requires keeping current with the law and developments in legal practice. To that end, he is active in several professional organizations, including the Federal Bar Association, and he previously chaired the Criminal Law Section of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. Mr. Geherin is a frequent lecturer and contributor to Michigan's Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) on topics ranging from trial skills to drunk driving defense to driver's license restoration to sex-offense defense.

Mr. Geherin is admitted to practice in both California and Michigan. He serves clients in courts throughout Southeastern Michigan and at Secretary of State hearings throughout Michigan.
