Matthew A. Caplan

For 24 years, attorney Matthew A. Caplan has been helping women in Michigan with their family law and divorce matters. A skilled and experienced litigator at the law firm of D.A.W.N./Caplan & Associates, P.C., Mr. Caplan frequently handles high-conflict cases and divorces involving domestic abuse as well as high-asset divorce, same-sex divorce, paternity matters, child custody and support, spousal support and post-judgment modifications. 

With the best interests of his clients always at the forefront, Mr. Caplan provides information about the law with empathy, so his clients understand their options. Practical, sensitive and responsive, he nevertheless fights aggressively and fiercely on their behalf in court.

Mr. Caplan's passion for pursuing justice and standing up for those in vulnerable situations includes serving as Chairman of the Board for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and volunteering his time at the William Booth Legal Aid Clinic. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Mr. Caplan attended Wayne State University Law School. He graduated with his law degree and became licensed to practice in Michigan in 1997. He is a family man who enjoys outdoor sports and cooking in his free time.
