The founder of the Law Office of Jorin G. Rubin, PC, Jorin G. Rubin provides skilled and aggressive representation for her clients in Birmingham, Michigan, the Detroit metropolitan area, and throughout Oakland and Wayne counties. Ms. Rubin divides her practice of law into the areas of family law and criminal law. Her family law casework includes divorce, spousal and child support, relocation, post-judgment modifications and protection orders, and her criminal law cases have included asset forfeiture defense and airport currency seizures, real property attachments, food stamp terminations and general criminal defense.
In 1984, Ms. Rubin obtained her Bachelor of Science in nutrition from the University of Michigan. Later, she decided to pursue her law degree at the St. John's University School of Law. She received her Juris Doctor in 1991. After graduating, Ms. Rubin has been admitted to practice law in both New York and Michigan. She has also been admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern districts of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 2nd and 6th circuits.
Following law school, she worked for the United States Attorney's Office in New York in the civil division. The experience involved representing the government in asset forfeiture and other matters. Using that experience as the foundation of her private practice, she broadened her focus to the areas of criminal and family law. In addition to her private practice, she is a member of numerous legal organizations, including the Oakland County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and the Federal Bar Association. Hoping to contribute to the continued development of her field, she has also written for the Michigan Bar Journal.
