Selected to Rising Stars: 2013 - 2023 Patrick is a trial lawyer. He has been fortunate and carries a 12-0 record at trial. He obtained a $32 Million jury verdict in federal court in January 2025 against a large publicly traded defendant after a two week trial. Patrick then co-founded Stinar Lannen later in 2025 with Parker Stinar.
Prior to that, Patrick spent nearly two decades at a large, well-established defense firm and completed more than 250 cases in various federal courts around the country and built up a series of "no cause" verdicts and summary judgment dismissals for clients in multiple sectors, predominantly covering banking, technology sales, and class action subject matters.
On October 31, 2025, Patrick concluded as "lead counsel" a $141 Million Class Action settlement in state court in Macomb County, Michigan, based on claims of institutional abuse at Henry Ford Hospital.
Today, Patrick leads his Firm's office in Birmingham, Michigan, and specializes on mass and class actions and commercial litigation involving ticklish high-stakes matters. He brings a wealth of knowledge with a personal touch, having spent decades at a prominent commercial litigation law firm as a shareholder and board member where he co-led the class action practice group, and managed a team of 15 lawyers. His practice today focuses on privacy and cybersecurity, antitrust, banking, consumer protection, real estate, and shareholder rights.
With a Juris Doctor, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2009, Mr. Lannen also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College. He is admitted to multiple U.S. District Courts in Michigan, Indiana and Maryland, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
