Patrick Lannen

Patrick Lannen serves as a partner at Stinar Gould Grieco & Hensley in Birmingham, Michigan, playing a critical role within the firm's mass and class action and commercial litigation practice groups. Mr. Lannen brings a wealth of knowledge in complex litigation, focusing on areas including privacy and cybersecurity, antitrust issues, consumer protection, business and banking litigation, and shareholder rights. His prowess extends to handling cases involving toxic exposures, defective products and institutional abuse actions.

Before his association with the current firm, Mr. Lannen was deeply involved in a prominent commercial litigation law firm as a shareholder and board member. There, he co-led the class action practice group, where he managed high-stakes commercial and class-action matters. This role allowed him to develop a comprehensive skill set for representing clients in diverse and significant disputes, spanning areas such as banking, bankruptcy, class actions and large-scale commercial litigation.

Mr. Lannen's remarkable acumen was evident when he served as lead counsel, securing a groundbreaking $31.9 million verdict in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in 2025, marking the largest known verdict in Michigan for that year. His dedication and strategic litigation approaches have earned him accolades in various legal domains, reinforcing his position as a robust advocate for both individual and class-action clients.

With a Juris Doctor degree, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2009, Mr. Lannen also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College. His legal career was initiated with a foundational clerkship under Justice Maura D. Corrigan at the Michigan Supreme Court. His commitment to the legal profession is further demonstrated by his active memberships across several jurisdictions, including the State Bar of Michigan and admissions to multiple U.S. District Courts in Michigan, Indiana and Maryland, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
