Alisa A. Peskin-Shepherd is an experienced family law attorney and mediator in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She takes a unique approach to the practice of family law to align with her mission and values providing her clients the opportunity to learn and grow through a difficult and usually chaotic time in their lives. With her team at Transitions Legal, Alisa brings innovative approaches to each matter that directly benefit her clients' legally, financially and emotionally. One such example is the Our Family in Two Homes resource package which provides clients with a workbook that prepares them to work efficiently with Alisa and her legal team, reduces stress and gives clients more control over their process.  Alisa handles a wide range of cases involving family law topics such as divorce, alimony, child support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, custody, change of domicile, parenting agreements, parenting time, property settlements, stepparent adoption, post-judgment issues and more.  Alisa successfully represents individuals throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.

Alisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in community development and urban planning. She earned her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and has also received additional training in collaborative divorce, the insight approach to conflict resolution, divorce mediation, child custody mediation and domestic violence. She has been licensed to practice in all Michigan state courts since 1987.

Using her extensive training and experience to educate and help others is something that Alisa greatly enjoys. She has led workshops on topics such as divorce and mediation for educational institutions such as Wayne State University and organizations including Michigan's chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Active in Michigan's legal community, as well as the community at large, Alisa is a member of bar associations including the Oakland County Bar Association, the Women's Lawyers Association of Michigan and the State Bar of Michigan. She also participates in alternative dispute resolution organizations including the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
