An accomplished attorney, she has prosecuted 14 class action suits and represented numerous individual employees with their cases involving pension benefits, securing more than $120 million to date. Most recently, she and her partners recovered over $39 million in a class action on behalf of a group of disabled persons whose disability retirement benefits were drastically and unlawfully reduced.  In addition, Ms. Cantarella has extensive experience practicing before the Michigan Tax Tribunal, having assisted hundreds of clients with their property tax appeals cases.

Ms. Cantarella began her legal career in 1994 after obtaining her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit and her license to practice from the State Bar of Michigan. In addition to practicing before the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, she can legally practice before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Supreme Court and 12 of the 13 Circuits of the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Well-versed in her practice areas, Ms. Cantarella has published numerous articles and delivered lectures and commentary on various topics related to ERISA, pension law, and employee benefits. She also serves as a continuing legal education instructor for the Commercial Board of Realtors and the International Council of Shopping Centers, and she is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Tax Section and the ASPPA Benefits Council of Detroit.
