Patrick A. Foley

Patrick A. Foley is the managing partner of John R. Foley, P.C. in Dearborn, Michigan, and leads the firm's Business & Bankruptcy Law practice. He represents business owners, professionals, investors, fiduciaries, and bankruptcy trustees in business bankruptcy, Chapter 11 and Subchapter V reorganization, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, commercial litigation, and financial disputes.

Patrick began his career as lead counsel to the Chapter 7 Trustee in the national liquidation of a 70-plus-location franchise operation, handling operational wind-downs, lease negotiations, claims resolution, and the preservation of estate assets across multiple jurisdictions.

Today his practice covers Chapter 11 and Subchapter V reorganization; adversary proceedings under sections 523, 727, 547, and 548 of the Bankruptcy Code for trustees, creditors, and debtors; shareholder and partnership disputes; breach of fiduciary duty claims; business fraud; construction and real estate litigation; commercial contract litigation; and the business transactions that support all of it. He has obtained multiple successful jury verdicts in business litigation. He also works with his father, John R. Foley, on family law and probate matters involving business ownership, asset tracing, and significant marital estates.

Patrick earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2010 and a B.A. in Economics & Management from Albion College in 2007. He is admitted in Michigan and in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Federal Bar Association, and the Detroit, Oakland County, and Wayne County Family Law bar associations. He was named to DBusiness Magazine's Top Lawyers list for 2025. The firm has offices in Dearborn and Plymouth and serves clients throughout Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Macomb Counties.
