Patrick A. Foley is the managing partner at John R. Foley, P.C. Dividing his practice among several areas of the law, he represents individual and business clients throughout the greater Detroit metropolitan area from the firm’s offices in Dearborn and Plymouth.
After graduating from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 2003, Mr. Foley attended Albion College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Management, graduating in 2007. From there, Mr. Foley pursued his legal education at the University of Alabama School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2010.
Mr. Foley has extensive experience in both transaction and litigation work.
On the transactional side, Mr. Foley represents businesses and high net worth individuals in initial organization and structuring, initial funding transactions, in business and real estate contract negotiations, and in financial structuring and reorganization.
On the litigation side, Mr. Foley is trial attorney. He has represented his clients in all of his practice areas, in both bench trials and jury trials, over the course of 11 years in practice. Mr. Foley's mainstay has been representing debtors, creditors, and trustees, in bankruptcy proceedings and adversary litigation under Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13. In addition his bankruptcy litigation, Mr. Foley represents businesses and high income individuals in litigation regarding breach of contract, fraud, and misrepresentation.
The firm of John R. Foley, P.C., founded by attorney John R. Foley, who began practice in 1981, has focused for over 30 years on family law, probate litigation and estate planning, and employment law. As a result, Mr. Foley devotes about 50% of his practice to these areas as well, bringing his diverse experience and competency in areas of complex litigation and transaction work, to the benefit of his clients having more complex needs in those practice areas.
Admitted to practice in Michigan since 2010, he is also admitted to practice in Alabama (2011) (on inactive status) and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
