Ali H. Koussan

Ali graduated with High Distinction from the University of Michigan, with a degree in Finance and minor in Economics. While there, Ali earned multiple distinctions: by faculty vote, reception of the Financial Executives International Award for Academic Excellence; he was named “The Honors Scholar in the study of Finance”; recognized by the formerly-local, Fortune 500 company DaimlerChrysler, with the prestigious “DaimlerChrysler Scholarship”; and, through his service as a member of both the School of Management Honors Program and the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society.

After completion of his undergraduate academics, Ali went on to Wayne State University Law School as a “Dean’s Scholar” and “Lombard Fellow” and earned his Juris Doctor. Since then, Ali clerked in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan-Southern Division, for the renowned civil rights advocate and federal judge, the Honorable Julian Abele Cook, Jr. While there, Ali worked on several high-profile cases including some which have gone on to be reviewed by the United States Supreme Court.

As a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan and zealous advocate for individual liberties, Ali continued his legal pursuits as a solo practitioner. However, Ali’s academics did not end after law school; in fact, his studies only intensified when he returned to academics and, ultimately, completed his pre-med studies.

Once again, Ali immediately excelled upon his return to academia, Ali was always happy to assist his classmates personally and, while studying himself, he tutored his classmates part-time in his capacity as a Science Peer Tutor at his local University’s “Learning Lab.” From there, Ali laid his foundation for his current expertise in the field of commercial law with a specialty and focus on healthcare.
